Flowers: a most wonderful language for expressing a love dream

Flowers have always represented a wonderful language, a way to express unique emotions without the use of words. In a wedding, the choice of flowers is very important because it speaks of a dream. Here are 5 simple tips when choosing the flowers for your wedding day.

1. Personal taste is the first guide in choosing flowers. Flowers first and foremost express the personality and character of the bride and groom, so we recommend making the choice of flowers together as a couple, making it clear right away, perhaps with a "wish list," what the must-haves are for both of you. Communicating each other's preferences is a great starting point to begin a beautiful journey together.

2. It is always best to rely on a professional florist. An expert will be able to recommend the best options, based on the preferences expressed by the bride and groom, the different moments of the wedding, and the venues chosen for the ceremony and reception. A first consultation with the florist is recommended at least two months before the wedding to communicate all possible details of the ceremony and reception.

3. Choosing the flowers according to the style of the wedding is a must.  Whether your wedding is traditional or trendy, it is important to plan your choice of floral decorations and arrangements. For the ceremony, white should always be present as the main colour or combined with the couple's favourite colour, used in a much smaller proportion. For the reception, imagination can be given free rein, taking into account, however, the location, and coordinating the colours to the style of the setting.

4. Seasonal blooms are a guarantee of beauty. We recommend choosing seasonal flowers: freesias, daffodils, roses, lily of the valley, orchids, and gerbera daisies, in spring; magnolias, lilies, roses, sunflowers, peonies, in summer; hydrangeas, daisies, passion flowers, carnations, in autumn; lastly, irises, camellias, tulips, poinsettias, snowdrops in winter; and throughout the year, calla lilies, orchids, roses, tulips and carnations.

5. When choosing the flowers, keep in mind the bouquet and accessories. The bouquet will be chosen by the bride according to the style of the dress: the two must match perfectly. The bride's bouquet will be coordinated with the groom's buttonhole flower, the boutonniere, which should be no more than a single white flower such as a rose, gardenia, lily of the valley or carnation, the latter being the symbol of fidelity. Do not forget the page boy bearing the wedding ring pillow and the flower crowns for the flower girls, if any. And, last but not least, the conveyance on which the bride and groom will ride...a car, a horse-drawn carriage, a boat?
